Just a reminder. . . .

🎵 March is Music in Our Schools Month and Gateway Elementary's 3rd grade went ALL OUT celebrating America's 250th birthday! Tuesday had us on our feet as Miss Bernardini, Miss Kohli, and Mrs. Geric's classes absolutely crushed their performances. Then Wednesday? Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Cunningham, and Mrs. Nieminen's classes brought the house DOWN with their equally outstanding show. 🎉 The energy was electric, the talent was real, and our gym was packed with families cheering on their amazing scholars. 🙌 Huge shout-out to Miss Trost for keeping the musical vibes pumped up and helping us celebrate our nation's 250 birthday in the most joyful way possible! 🎸✨

🚀 Gateway Elementary had an absolutely stellar day today! We welcomed Tech Sergeant Chris Kelly from the United States Space Force—and get this, he is a CHS graduate (Class of 2015) and he's a proud Gateway Elementary alum from way back!
During our assembly, Tech Sergeant Kelly took us on a journey through space 🌌, cracked the code on how the internet actually works 💻, and showed us the mind-bending ways messages zoom around the world 🌍 His visit was the perfect reminder that the students sitting in our classrooms today could be tomorrow's space explorers, engineers, and innovators. Nothing quite hits like seeing real-world inspiration walk through your school doors! ✨

Gateway Elementary Students Prove Learning Can Be Egg-stra Fun with i-Ready Goal Smash!
Big goals, hard work, and a whole lot of feathers filled the classroom during the second nine weeks as Miss Mischka’s students took learning to the next level—literally!
Earlier this term, students set an ambitious goal: pass 800 i-Ready Math and Reading path lessons by the end of the second nine weeks. The incentive? Their teacher would suit up as an inflatable—chosen by student vote.
Challenge accepted.
Through determination, teamwork, and consistent effort, students didn’t just meet their goal… they blew it out of the coop, passing an incredible 810 i-Ready lessons!
After celebrating their success, students voted on the final reward and made their choice loud and clear: an inflatable chicken. To honor their achievement, their teacher will proudly don the inflatable chicken costume and perform the chicken dance, proving once and for all that learning and laughter go hand in hand.
“This challenge showed our students that setting goals, working hard, and supporting each other really pays off,” said the very brave (and soon-to-be feathered) teacher. “They earned every flap of this chicken dance!”
Congratulations to these outstanding students for their commitment, perseverance, and egg-cellent achievement. We’re so proud of Miss Mischka's students! 🐔💛
