Did you know? Rising property values do not automatically mean increased revenue for Conneaut schools.
Passed in 1976, House Bill 920 generally reduces the effective tax rate on many voter-approved, fixed-rate property tax levies as property values increase. This limits automatic revenue growth from those levies, even as the cost of operating schools rise.
That’s one reason school funding can be complex. We’re proud to join Ashtabula County school districts in sharing facts to help our communities better understand how public education is funded.

Good luck to both our boys’ and girls’ cross country teams as they compete at regionals in Boardman on Saturday! For the first time in school history, BOTH teams have advanced to regionals together! What an incredible accomplishment!

This morning, a high school student was struck by a car while on her way to school. We are very thankful to share that she was treated and released.
This remains an active police matter, as this incident is being investigated as a hit-and-run.
We are grateful to everyone who stopped to help our student and to the first responders and other school staff who provided assistance. Our thoughts are with the student and her family as she recovers from this frightening experience.
We will continue to support our student and family and cooperate fully with law enforcement as the investigation continues.

’Twas the Night Before the First Day of School 2026 💙💛
’Twas the night before school, and throughout Spartan land,
Backpacks are ready, with pencils in hand.
The classrooms are waiting, the hallways are bright,
And teachers are hoping they remembered everything tonight.
The buses are fueled and the class lists prepared,
The staff is excited and, from the new ones, a few butterflies shared.
New shoes by the doorway, alarms set with care,
While parents are wondering, “How is a new year already here?”
Tomorrow our quiet halls come alive once more,
With laughter, learning, and friendships galore.
