Last week was Stay Safe, Think Train Week.
Trains are very present in our community. Students need to be aware of their hazards even when they are sitting idle.
Here are some important safety reminders to keep in mind around railroad tracks:
Look and Listen – Always be alert for trains when approaching tracks.
Obey Signals – Wait for signals to clear and never go around gates.
Stay Focused – Keep distractions away, especially near crossings.
Cross Carefully – Only cross when it's safe and ensure no train is approaching. Never pass through a stopped train.
Report Hazards – Let authorities know if you spot unsafe conditions near tracks.

student has the support they need to succeed.
Stay In The Game, in partnership with the Cleveland Browns, is dedicated to fostering a
culture of regular school attendance and providing resources to help students overcome
barriers. By joining forces, we are reinforcing our commitment to creating a supportive
and engaging educational environment for all our students.
Hey Spartan Families-just a reminder that our annual Chris Brecht State Farm White Out Carnival and our football home opener against Berkshire are this Friday. September 6th. Still need your white out shirt-you can get yours for only $5 at the State Farm office on Main Street. The carnival will take place from 4:30-6:30 and kickoff is at 7pm.
We are sorry to announce that Chomps, the Browns mascot, is under the weather and has a vet appointment on Friday. So he will not be at the carnival. But when he is feeling better, he will be making a visit to our schools. We will have give-aways from the Cleveland Browns as well as Stay in the Game attendance pledges for our students to sign at the carnival.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Friday night-remember wear WHITE! Go Spartans!!

Dear Spartan Families,
It has been a truly uplifting first day of the 2024-2025 school year! We are thrilled to share that enrollment is UP, students enjoying school breakfasts and lunches are UP (thanks to the free-for-all program this year), and students getting home on time are UP. While there are always a few first-day hiccups and jitters, I am incredibly proud of how our staff and families came together to make this day a success.
By 4:55 p.m., all buses were empty, and we anticipate this time improving over the next few days. The smiles on the students' faces matched the smiles on the fries in the cafeteria, and we hope to see this positive energy continue throughout the year.

We are pleased to inform you that Conneaut Area City Schools will be implementing a new
option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast
Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for School Year 2024-2025.
What does this mean for our Spartan Families? All enrolled students of Conneaut Area City Schools are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2024-2025 school year that school is in session. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit an application.
Many thanks to Elizabeth Gillette (Nutrition Service Supervisor), Robin McKee (EMIS coordinator) Abbie Brockway (Assistant to the Treasurer) and Jackie Miranda (Treasurer) for taking all the steps necessary to complete the application and make this possible for our students!
Did your family move over the summer? Please make sure you have updated your address in Final Forms and uploaded Proof of Residency. It is very important for the district to have your current address to make sure if your child receives transportation we route the bus to your current address or if we send a mailing you are receiving it. Please help us ensure a smooth transition for everyone!
Today we held a summer appreciation picnic for our 260 day employees and summer staff. These are the amazing people who made sure the buildings are clean or repaired, the buses are ready to roll, the grounds or athletic fields are mowed or striped, technology is updated or our day to day office needs continue to be met. Thanks to everyone for all their hard work this summer. We look forward to seeing the rest of the Spartan staff and our students when they return over the next few weeks!
The Back to School BACKPACK GIVEAWAY will be held at the Conneaut Human Resources Center Hall on Thursday, August 8th from 10 am -12 noon. Backpacks are filled with supplies for students in grades PK-12. Thank you to all who made donations of supplies or financial contributions for this event.
